More than a decade after opening the flagship Orleans Seafood Kitchen location in the Garden at Westgreens center near Katy Freeway, the restaurant will be expanding into Fulshear in spring 2022, according to an Oct. 12 press release. The original location at 20940 Katy Freeway G, Katy, was opened in 2008 by Houston residents Chance Comstock and Marcus Payavla.
“This has been such an exciting project to take on, and one that we’ve been considering for some time,” Comstock said. “When we opened in Katy over 13 years ago a second location wasn’t necessarily in the plan, but as we continued to grow over the years and really got to know our customers and what they liked and didn’t like, it became not a matter of if we would open another location, but when.”
Orleans Seafood Kitchen will be launching the second location at 6230 FM 1463, Fulshear. The 5,418 square-foot restaurant will offer a 1,385 square-foot patio. The dining room seats 118, with 58 seats in the full-service bar and 48 on the patio. The new location will also have multiple televisions in the bar and patio area.
“We spent a lot of time looking at different neighborhoods, but there was something about this location in Fulshear and this amazing community that made us feel at home—so now it’s officially our second home,” Payavla said.
The new Fulshear restaurant will have some similarities to the original location, such as New Orleans-inspired decorations, traditional Cajun fare and its counter order format, a full-service bar and a patio.
The new restaurant will also feature a larger beverage menu, which will include craft beer and more liquor options, as well as the brand’s traditional New Orleans-inspired frozen drinks. The family-friendly restaurant’s food menu includes seafood gumbo, etoufee, po’boys, char-grilled oysters and boiled crawfish—when in season.
