This represents 53.62% of the county’s population over the age of 12. As of May 12, individuals 12 years old and older are able to receive a COVID-19 vaccine in Texas.
In addition to those fully vaccinated, 83,005 Fort Bend County residents have received the first shot in a two-shot series, state data shows.
A total of 58,772 coronavirus cases have been reported in Fort Bend County since the start of the pandemic, according to DSHS. Of these cases, 57,790 individuals are estimated to have recovered, leaving 982 active cases.
Fort Bend County Health & Human Services has reported fewer than 100 new coronavirus cases each day since May 6. The seven-day new case average is 36.57 as of May 28. New case information is not reported on the weekends or holidays.
