With fall underway, there are a variety of events in the Katy area—from trunk-or-treating to getting some holiday shopping done.

Oct. 23: Go trunk-or-treating

Cane Island is hosting a Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat event. The festival will feature a variety of fall-themed activities, such as pumpkin painting and caramel apple making. The event will also host local boutiques as vendors, a corn maze and a petting zoo. trunk-or-treating will take place in the pool parking lot, whereas all of the fall festival activities will take place at the amenity village. 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Free, $10 (pie eating contest). Oct. 30: Find gifts for the holidays

Home for the Holidays Gift Market is hosting its 14th annual Wonderland Market. The event will offer a wide selection of unique, handcrafted items from local businesses. The event will include vendors in food, fashion, accessories and home decor. Food trucks will also be available onsite. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Free (admission). Oct. 30: Do some spooky shopping

The Houston Horror Film Festival is hosting an outdoor Halloween market. The event will host a wide selection of vendors, local artists, filmmakers and horror celebrity guests, including Ken Sagoes from “A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors”, Ari Lehman of “Friday the 13th”, “V/H/S” star Hannah Fierman and more. Nov. 6: Attend a cook-off

Giving Tuesday Katy will launch its 2021 activities with a family-friendly chili cook-off event. The event will also feature fire safety demonstrations, Santa photos, music, games, vendor booths and other activities. 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Free. Nov. 6: Sip and stroll

The 22nd edition of Katy Sip and Stroll will feature premium wine collections, a wide selection of craft beer, food, vendors and live music. Proceeds will benefit The Ballard House, which provides no-cost housing for patients being treated for life-threatening illnesses and their families. 6-9 p.m. $65. Nov. 11-13: Enjoy a beer

Wild West Brewfest 2021 will take place over three days in November.
