Lance LaCour, president of the Katy Area Economic Development Council, will become the new economic development president of Partnership Lake Houston, according to a Sept. 8 press release. LaCour will join Partnership Lake Houston Nov. 1, according to the press release.
The Katy Area EDC was founded in 2003 to recruit, retain and expand new high-quality and high-impact companies, jobs, and talent to improve the quality of life of Katy area residents, according to its website. LaCour has been the president of the Katy Area EDC for over 16 years.
LaCour said that he was grateful for his time at the Katy Area EDC and that Katy would always have a special place in his heart.
“I am incredibly grateful for my time at Katy Area EDC and look forward to a new challenge in my role at Partnership Lake Houston,” LaCour said. “Leaving Katy Area EDC and the Katy area community is certainly difficult, and I will miss the many great relationships that I’ve formed during my time here.”
Partnership Lake Houston CEO Jenna Armstrong said the team is looking forward to LaCour bringing his experience in leading a successful, privately funded economic development organization to the Lake Houston area.
“Lance is very well-known and respected throughout the state and the country for his success with growing jobs and attracting capital investment to his community,” Armstrong said in the Partnership Lake Houston press release. “Over the years, we’ve watched him grow the council in Katy from the early phases to a powerhouse economic development organization.”
