2022 CAMP GUIDE: 28 summer camps in and around Katy

Katy’s youth have many options for day and overnight summer camps this year. From science, technology, engineering, arts and math programs to sports and dance, parents can find a camp for kids of any age group, interest and ability. This list is not comprehensive.


1. Benedictine Tutors will host students for an all-day educational summer camp this year. Its goal is to help preserve the knowledge obtained in the previous school year while also preparing them for the upcoming year. During Math Mornings, students will receive individualized teaching of new concepts based on their math level and conclude with STEM activities, such as robotics, circuitry and science labs. At English Afternoons, Benedictine’s goals are to strengthen reading fluency and improve writing by building student’s vocabulary and improving their grammar skills.

2. Bobby Sanders Basketball Camp will host six informative and instructional training sessions to boys and girls who love basketball and want to improve their skills, especially shooting. The camp seeks to meet athletes at their particular ability level. The first four sessions will build upon traditional skills, and the final two sessions are intensive shooting camps. Players can attend both morning and afternoon sessions of each training camp.

3. The Fellowship in Katy will host Camp Cove this summer. Children will be separated into different groups and taught different skill sets, such as art, science and cooking.

4. Camp West, which started in 2010, will happen again this summer. Activities include swimming, sports, climbing a rock wall and playing volleyball.

5. Captivating Dance by Nona Texas will host summer camps for kids of all skill sets and ages to learn the basics, explore new techniques, build confidence and create friendships. There is a level for dancers at any stage, including toddlers learning the fundamentals of ballet, hip-hop, jazz and tumbling; beginner/intermediate dancers with no experience necessary; intensive camps for intermediate/advanced students who want to become more technical artists; and competitive sessions for the company team.

6. Carson’s Art School will offer half- and full-day art camps for kids this summer. Campers, whether beginners or advanced, can get one-on-one instruction, prepare their art portfolio and build a community with other artists at this family-owned art school.

8. Code Ninjas offers a variety of camps that allow kids to learn how to code at a young age. Some of the camps include how to become a YouTuber, coding your own cartoons and learning about video games, such as “Minecraft” and “Roblox.”

9. Cordovan Art School will host multiple art camps this summer. There will be more than 40 different camps for children to choose from.

10. Creator Camp is offering an animator camp, YouTube creator camp and a filmmaking camp for imaginative young minds. Creator Camp was founded in 2020 by Katy filmmakers and animators, and they hope to foster the same ingenuity in campers.

11. Drama Kids International will have three different summer camps this year. Each will be centered around a different theme, and the full-day camps will include a performance for friends and family.

14. 16. Paris Saint-Germain Academy immerses athletes in the Paris Saint-Germain environment and allows them to experience the academy’s rigorous soccer program. This means training the “Paris way’’ to develop tactical, technical and cognitive skills while increasing confidence and learning the values of respect, fair play and commitment. The camp concludes with an awards ceremony led by Paris Saint-Germain Academy coaches to present each player with a diploma.

19. Romp n’ Roll’s summer camp is tailored specifically for preschoolers who are beginning to socialize and learn. 21. Spanish Learning Castle will host a Spanish immersion summer camp for preschool-age kids for eight weeks throughout the summer.
