Taking a walk in one of Katy’s parks is a great way to explore the area. These parks include amenities such as sensory gardens, playgrounds, dog parks and more.

Exploration Park: 15020 Cinco Park Road, Katy

Exploration Park opened as a public playground in Katy in 2015. A multipurpose play area, open lawn, covered pavilion with picnic tables, a sensory garden, swings, a musical bridge, a raindrop berm and a slide tower are all featured in the park.

Katy City Park: 5850 Franz Road, Katy

Katy City Park is home to the city’s sports facility. The sports complex includes lit baseball fields, softball fields, a soccer/multipurpose field, a three-court basketball pavilion, six Americans with Disabilities Act-accessible tennis courts and picnic tables that are accessible year-round. The athletic fields are available for rental Monday through Sunday from 8 a.m.-11 p.m.

Katy Dog Park: 5414 Franz Road, Katy

This off-leash dog park in Katy opened in 2007 for pups of all sizes. The park is open every day from dawn to dusk and includes an agility course, a walking path, a wading pool for dogs, dog showers and fountains accessible for dogs and their owners.

Katy Heritage Park: 5990 George Bush Drive, Katy

Tradition Bank’s bandstand and brick-paved patio are among the many things that make Heritage Park a beloved park in Katy. It was founded in 2003 by the city of Katy and the Katy Heritage Society as a joint project.

Katy Play Station and Outdoor Pavilion: 5611 Gardenia Lane, Katy

The Katy Play Station and Outdoor Pavilion is Texas’ largest innovative playground for multiple-impaired and profoundly deaf children. The 13,000-square-foot playground has been custom-designed to honor the MKT Rail line. This play facility is for able-bodied children and children with disabilities.

Mary Jo Peckham Park: 5597 Gardenia Lane, Katy

Located on 32 acres, Mary Jo Peckham Park features a variety of amenities, including a miniature golf course, a fishing lake, a walking trail and a large playground.

Paul D. Rushing Park: 9114 Katy Hockley Road, Katy

Paul D. Rushing Park is a 32-acre park featuring views of Katy Prairie. The park features bird observation blinds, a dog park, picnic and playground areas, a walking trail and more park amenities.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Park: 6202 George Bush Drive, Katy

Located in the heart of Katy, this wooded park features a children’s playground, a large rope climber, two picnic pavilions with tables, a walking path and public restrooms.

Willow Fork Park: 23440 Cinco Ranch Blvd., Katy

Willow Fork Park opened in 2016 and contains a lake, paved trails, large open lawns and 15 types of trees. Among the park’s additional amenities are free WiFi, educational signage, solar-powered lighting, boardwalks, a pedestrian bridge, disc golf, bioswales, dog waste stations and a pavilion with restrooms, picnic tables and barbecue pits. As part of Friends of Willow Fork Park’s efforts, a butterfly garden with more than 60 plants from 25 different species and six native prairie types of grass opened in 2019.

Woodsland Park: 443 Danover Road, Katy

There are a variety of amenities available at Woodsland Park, a 7-acre heavily wooded park providing a secluded atmosphere for individuals and groups alike. Park amenities include a covered basketball court, picnic tables, a playground, a large barbecue pit and a community center.
